This Fine Silver (.999) Proof 5 cent coin was released as part of the annual Fine Silver Proof Year Set for 2023. The Royal Australian Mint began releasing Fine Silver Year Sets in 2003 and have continued to do so since then. The Echidna standard reverse 5 cent coin has been included in the Fine Silver Proof Year set every year since 2003.


The Jody Clark 6th Portrait of Queen Elizabeth on this coin had a addition in the form of the special Memorial Obverse.

 

The Fine Silver Proof Set normally includes a, 10 cent, 20 cent, 50 cent, $1 and $2 coin as well as this 5 cent coin. The sets are issued in a presentation case, initially made from wood but recently made from plastic or imitation wood.
