The journal Numismatica e Antichità Classiche - Quaderni Ticinesi (NAC) is published annually in January and features previously unpublished contributions on numismatics and Greco-Roman antiquities. Occasionally, contributions on peripheral areas of the classical world, particularly Cyprus, the Near East, and Egypt, are also considered.
All articles are written by specialists in these fields. The selection is based on quality and a successful balance between established researchers and young scholars with new cutting-edge research. Contributions are published in the main European languages.
The journal was founded in 1972 by Ernesto Bernareggi, professor of numismatics at the University of Milan, together with a group of Ticino friends passionate about numismatics and archaeology.
The first director was Ernesto Bernareggi, followed from 1985 by Luigi Polacco, professor of archaeology at the University of Padua, and from 1999 by Ermanno A. Arslan, director of the Art Collections of Milan and member of the Lincei Academy.
