The Grotte de Massabielle is a Catholic pilgrimage site in Lourdes, France (Hautes-Pyrénées). It is here that Bernadette Soubirous claims to have seen 18 apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1858, and where, on the Virgin's instructions, she discovered a source of water now reputed to be miraculous.
