Quetzalcoatl is a major deity of Mesoamerican mythology, particularly revered by the Aztecs and Mayans. He is often depicted as a feathered serpent, symbolizing fertility, wisdom and creation. Quetzalcoatl is also associated with the wind, the morning star (Venus) and knowledge. According to some legends, he is said to have brought humans important knowledge such as agriculture, the calendar and writing.
