Commemoration of the centenary of the Statue of Liberty or Liberty Enlightening the World (1886-1986).
The statue was offered by the French people to the Americans as a sign of friendship, and unveiled on October 28, 1886 in the presence of Grover Cleveland, President of the United States, to mark the centenary of the American Declaration of Independence. Placed on an island at the entrance to New York harbor.
