Unabridged legend: 8 Reales, San Luis Potosí, 1829, Juan Sanabria, 10 Dineros, 20 Granos.
| Pi | San Luís Potosí, Mexico (1827-1893) |
NOTE: This Pattern (was) presumably produced at the Royal mint, London, since dies are still to be found in the Mint Museum, but since mintmark and assayer's initials match the one on the date, confirmation is needed.
Dineros and Granos are part of silver fineness scale used on the time of this coin; pure silver was graded as 12 Dineros; each Dinero was divided on 24 Granos, so 10 Dineros is equal to 1/12*10= 833.33‰ + 20 Granos equal to 1/12/24*20=69.41‰ Total 902.7‰
