Coin issued for circulation and also in small plactic case with red background:
Some versions were issued also in sets. The Proof Version was issued with a Certificate of Authenticity (example for 1981 year below):
The die mark is on the edge of the map, above the letter N of ONE (see marked on red below):
The 1979 coins have a small triskelion in a circle on the reverse above the O in POUND (see marked on green above). This symbol is not present on the 1978 or 1980-1982 coins and refers to the Millenium of Tynwald (Manx Parliament) which was founded in 979 according the local tradition (no historical confirmation). One of the 1979 version instead of die mark has crossed oars to commemorate Henley Boating Regatta.
The 1980 coins may have an additional inscription to commemorate Tourist Trophy race, Daily Mail Ideal Home Exhibition and Daily Mail Ideal Home Exhibition North:
Some of the 1982 coins have no die mark letters but instead have the “baby cradle” privy mark to commemorate the birth of Prince William.
