This coin had been originally intended for use in the Cape of Good Hope 5 [1/2 duit coins equals] 1⁄32 G [gulden] on the half duit, but due to the loss of that colony, where the duit was higher valued, they were sent to the Indies instead, at an initial value of 6 to the 1/32 Gulden.
