GroPACs (Group Pacific) were specialized U.S. Navy Advance Base units established in the Pacific Theatre to handle the off-loading, storage, and distribution of vital supplies. Following the surrender of Japan, GroPAC 13 occupied a former Japanese military base at Tangku.
