In 2026, the Saint Petersburg Mint issued the first medal in the new "Extraordinary Inhabitants of the Deep" series—the Black Anglerfish. The medal is similar in size and format to the Moscow Mint's "Extinct Animals" series—a medal with a color print in a transparent plastic blister with a color insert.
