Begun in 1882 and financed exclusively by alms and donations, the construction of the Sagrada Familia is still ongoing and is expected to be completed around 2026. This as yet unfinished work by the architect Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926) is based on meticulous symbolism specific to Christianity and will culminate at 170 m.
