Helmeted and cuirassed bust of Constantine I right, paludamentum on shoulder, seen from three-quarters view. Plumed helmet with a body shaped like a half-globe. Studded visor. Helmet divided into two parts, each adorned with two eight-pointed stars flanked by globules. Neck guard decorated with three horizontally arranged globules. Smooth cuirass decorated with the aegis, ending in a tiny Medusa head and surmounted by a scalloped line. Scalloped shoulder guard. Long, thin pteruges.

De la plus grande rareté. Semble complètement inédit et non répertorié. Un unique exemplaire recensé dans l'ouvrage “L'atelier monétaire d'Arles de Constantin à Romulus 313-476”, de FERRANDO Philippe, en 2010 (le n°414, p. 177). Un deuxième exemplaire, en SUP, passé en vente en 2011 sur CGB pour 750 €. Si l'exemplaire de la présente fiche n'est pas celui de l'ouvrage de Philippe FERRANDO, l'exemplaire de cette fiche serait le 3ème recensé.
Buste tout à fait exceptionnel pour ce type de monnayage qui se rencontre plutôt pour les ateliers de Ticinum ou de Siscia. Césure de légende de droit tout à fait inhabituelle.
