CITY OF CAIRO
Reeded
The coin was minted to commemorate the deepest treasure recovery in history. Coin is layered in genuine recovered silver with an antique finish.
S.S. City of Cairo lies at a depth of 17,000 feet (5150 m) below sea level. In 1942, with 122 tonnes of Indian Silver Rupees in her hold, the ship was torpedoed by a German submarine and laid there for nearly 71 years.
