Obverse
The coin represents a part of the large rose window, its center and some rays. In the solid parts are readable the inscriptions "850 ANS", "Notre Dame de Paris" and "RF" and in the others a gargoyle, the western face of the cathedral and details of the architecture of the monument.

Reverse
The reverse is similar to the obverse, with the same elements visible from one side to the other in the translucent parts. The solid parts show the face value "5000 EURO", the year "2013" and the inscription "UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE" with the organization's logo.
