TRENTE-CINQ CENTIMES
35
A.FISCH
Engraver: Antoine Fisch
Value in figures in a grenetis.
Script: Latin
Lettering: 35
Smooth, unmarked.
Maison Fisch offered these standardized tokens that merchants, cooperatives or private circles could buy in small quantities without having to pay the cost of creating a personalized corner.
The value of 35 centimes is a rather unusual denomination. In Belgium, before 1914 or during the interwar period, 35 centimes often corresponded to the price of a special pint of beer, an entrance fee or a specific ration in a canteen.
