This series, produced by Colombo Medaglie, encompassed many subjects, medal sizes and compositions. They have been in business since 1925, with various corporate names including; Damiano Colombo & F - Coniazione Medaglie, Medaglia Damiano Colombo & Figli, D Colombo a Figli, Damiano Colombo, & CDF Milano.
The engraver, Mauro Baldessari (MA BA) was “Born in Rovereto, Baldessarri graduated from the Trento School of Engraving. In addition to various teaching experiences (at art schools in Milan and in Burundi, Central Africa), he devoted himself to sculpture and medal-making, particularly creating models for the learned D. Colombo of Milan.”
Medals of bronze, pewter, silver wash & sterling exist for those beatified &/or canonized from at least 1975 to 2000. Other subjects included, but were not limited to; Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, Beatus C.J. Eugenius de Mazenod & Joannes Paulus II.
