To mark the 100th anniversary of the death of Antoni Gaudí, Spain will celebrate the Year of Gaudí in 2026. The Royal Mint (FNMT) announced the launch of a numismatic series to commemorate the event. On Monday, March 23, 2026, the "Gaudí Centenary 2026" numismatic collection was issued, a series of seven commemorative coins that pay tribute to the genius of Catalan Modernism.
Antoni Gaudí i Cornet (25 June 1852 – 10 June 1926) was a Catalan architect and designer from Spain, known as the greatest exponent of Catalan Modernism. Gaudí's works have a highly individualized, sui generis style. Most are located in Barcelona, including his main work, the church of the Sagrada Família.
Casa Milà, popularly known as La Pedrera ("the stone quarry") in reference to its unconventional rough-hewn appearance, is a Modernista building in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It was the last private residence designed by architect Antoni Gaudí and was built between 1906 and 1912.
