The meaning of FFD (on the obverse) could be “Federation for the Promotion of Sport” (in Spanish, Federación para el Fomento del Deporte, or in Catalan, Federació pel Foment del Deport) or "[Catalan] Sports Football-Rugby Federation" (in Spanish, Federación Futbol-Rugby Deportiva [Catalana], or in Catalan, Federació Futbol-Rugby Deportiu [Catalana]), but no reliable and verifiable sources have been found.
The style of the reverse is typical of the Olympic revival era.
