250th Anniversary of US Independence
The right side of the medal depicts a portrait of Empress Catherine II signing a document: a pen in her hand, an inkwell, and paper in front of her. Behind Catherine II is the architectural ensemble of St. Petersburg.
The lower left side of the medal depicts three soldiers with muskets and a flag bearing the inscription "Don't Tread on Me"—a symbol of the American rebels.
This alludes to the events of the American Revolutionary War (1775–1783) and emphasizes Russia's diplomatic choice not to intervene in the conflict.
In the upper left corner of the medal is the date and monogram of Catherine II.
The rest of the medal is filled with ornamental scrolls in the Baroque style, typical of the era of Catherine II.

The central figure is a young woman on a throne, representing Russia. She is dressed in traditional Russian costume and a royal hat. She holds a shield with the Russian coat of arms and a two-handed sword with laurel branches.
At the foot of the throne are symbols of the country's wealth: ears of wheat, a sack of grain, bottles of clean drinking water, an oil rig, and a gas platform.
To the left and above are images of coins from various eras—the Tsardom of Moscow, the Russian Empire, and the USSR.
At the edge of the medal are the year and logo of the Monetoss project, along with an inscription.

One of Monetoss's annual coin sets, reflecting the most important events of recent years. Each set is more than just a coin collection, but a true historical document captured in metal.
The set consists of a medal, a complete set of the current year's regular mintage coins (in denominations of 1, 2, 5, and 10 rubles), and a descriptive booklet.
The booklet "My Empire Needs Peace" uses Catherine the Great's famous quote: "My Empire needs peace." This phrase refers to the empress's policy in 1775, when she refused to intervene in the conflict between Britain and the American colonies, proclaiming a course of neutrality and domestic tranquility for the country.
