Comments

Following the fall of Nemanjić dynasty after death of emperor Uroš in 1371, Lazar Hrebeljanović became an independent ruler in the area around Morava river (ei. Moravska Srbija) and held a title of prince (serb. - knez). After Lazars death in the battle of Kosovo in 1389 between Serbian and Ottoman troops, his lands were inherited by his eldest son Stefan (1389-1427). But because Stefan was underage his mother Milica was in charge as regent of the state until he was of age. Stefan was a prince (serb. knez) until 1402. when he got the title of despot.

Therefore this coin was minted in the period between 1389 and 1402.
