Commemorative issue

Commemorating the battles of Heligoland Bight in 1914 and at Dogger Bank in 1915

Obverse

Two oval medallions one above the other, joined by a knot. The upper shows a sinking cruiser. The lower medallion with a ship on her side. Two smaller medallions at the sides, on the left the 'LION' shown steaming to the right. Above a flagstaff with an admiral's flag and scroll. On the right 'ARETHUSA' steaming to left with a flagstaff above with a Commodore's broad pennant and inscription.
