According to AI:

This is a private wage or "piece-work" token issued in 1928 by the Andreas Lazanas company in Vrahati, Corinthia. During the early 20th century, the Northern Peloponnese was the world's primary producer of the "Black Corinth" (currant), a crop so vital to the national economy it was known as Greece’s "Black Gold." Vrahati was a major hub for the processing and export of the "Gulf" grade of currants, which were highly prized in the British and European markets.

It was used to manage the seasonal workforce during the intense harvest and packing period. Workers at the Lazanas packing facility received these aluminum tokens as receipts for specific tasks—likely for every crate of currants cleaned and packed. At the end of the shift or week, the workers would redeem their collected tokens for official Greek Drachmae.

Aluminium was the preferred material for these tokens because it was lightweight for workers to carry in bulk and resistant to corrosion from the sugars and acids of the fruit handled in the factory.
