Founded by Julien Daltroff in 1875, the Harly mechanical embroidery factory added a canteen in 1880 and workers' housing in 1895. After a temporary closure due to the Great War, the factory ceased operations for good in 1935 (source and detailed history: Inventaire général du patrimoine culturel des Hauts de France).
