The nuclear-powered icebreaker Lenin is an example of the use of nuclear energy in shipbuilding.
The world's first nuclear-powered vessel, commissioned in 1959.

The "Ahead of the Time" series of commemorative medals was issued in honor of the 75th Anniversary of Russia's Nuclear Industry. The series consists of eight medals, the obverse of which depicts key achievements of the Russian nuclear industry (from the RDS-1 to the Lider-class nuclear icebreaker).
The set was produced in 2020 in a limited edition of 1,500 pieces at the Moscow Mint and presented in a gift case with an accompanying booklet/certificate. Each medal in the set is minted in Proof quality and packaged in a protective capsule.
