Crowned shield with a crowned norwegian lion holding a halberd and facing left. All in a floral and pattern ring, surrounded by inscription.

Centre ring with inscription, Norwegian Royal flag, Naval flag and Trade flag and a surrounding chain.

Script: Latin

Lettering: DELTAGER I KAMPEN

Translation: Participant in the fight.

Comments

The medal was awarded to Norwegian and allied military personnel who took part in the Second World War. Personnel who are awarded the medal showed good national behavior during the occupation period.

It was also be distributed to civilian personnel who during the war in Norway in 1940 did important work for the military forces.

The participation medal is not awarded post mortem in accordance with practice from 1945.
