Comments

The Préaux family ran a watchmaking and jewelry store for over 75 years at 74, rue Notre-Dame (now rue Emile Zola) in Troyes.
On March 21, 1863, 38-year-old watchmaker Fernand Préaux announced the birth of his son Frédéric Anatole, to whom his wife Céline Girard had just given birth, at 74, rue Notre-Dame. A second son, Fernand Ernest, was born on September 22, 1864.
In 1901, the census lists Frédéric Anatole Préaux as head of the household, a watchmaker, at this address, with his wife Marthe Becker and their two daughters Marie-Louise, aged 8, and Madeleine, aged 1.
In 1931, his wife Marthe had disappeared, but he was still surrounded by his two daughters aged 39 and 32...
Today, 74 houses a "JULES" ready-to-wear store.
