Comments

Varieties of Asoka Lion on the obverse:
Type A: Asoka Column 15mm tall, fur rows (5) on right lion curve away from body
Type B: Asoka Column 14mm tall, fur rows (3-4) on right lion curve away from body
Type C: Asoka Column 13mm tall, fur rows on right lion parallel to body, fur rows on central lion neat looking, thick legs.
Type D: Asoka Column 13mm tall, fur rows on right lion parallel to body, fur rows on central lion messy looking, thin legs.

The Type C die was apparently re-cut to produce Type D. As such, some collectors don't recognise types C and D as separate varieties.

Varieties in the map exist.
