The Commemorative Medal of Morocco was created by the law of July 22, 1909, to reward the troops who, under the command of the future Marshal Louis Lyautey, were engaged in the pacification operations carried out from 1907 to March 30, 1912, the date of the promulgation of the Treaty of Fez.
It was awarded to 63,200 recipients.

The ribbon of the medal is white and green with 3 metal clasps, with the text, from the top: casablanca, haut-guir, oudjda..
