Stephen Album's Checklist of Islamic Coins designates this coin as “Scarce” (S). For Isfahan, #2720 differs from #2721 in that #2721 was struck only at Isfahan from 1140-1141 but with the accession year of 1173 on the reverse. #2721 is Type D, while #2720 is Type C.
*Album notes that “The ‘Four Friends’ are the Sunni Rashidun, thus confirming that Ashraf was Sunni rather than Shi'ite.”
