According to a summary of "JACOB LIPSON CANADIAN SELECTIONS" (The E-Sylum: Volume 24, Number 32, August 8, 2021, Article 25), “The 1886 Grand Bazaar was held to raise money for the continued construction of the Cathedral de Montreal, now the Mary, Queen of the Word Cathedral on Réné Lévesque street.
