This coin has been tentatively attributed to Sultan Muhid al-Din (r. 1715 - 1718) of the Sultanate of Bone, a state located in the southwest peninsula of Sulawesi (Celebes). The sultanate was conquered by the Dutch during the South Sulawesi expeditions of 1905.
