References suggest, "Issued as a joint venture by Remington and Ruger to celebrate Canada's 100th anniversary; same matching number on each along with matching commemorative medallions in buttstocks."
THO (personal communication) suggests the Nickel-silver version (THO-473) was likely used in the Ruger rifles.
