The 1967 Workers' Festival took place from June 16th to 18th in the Dresden district and was known as the 9th Workers' Festival of the GDR. A central program highlight was the exhibition "Awakening and Victory: The German Working Class in the Representation of the Visual Arts 1890-1965" at the Albertinum. Numerous amateur and professional artists, as well as the National People's Army (NVA) with parades, participated in the event.
