Fifty years after the creation of the United Nations Organization, which took place in 1945, that institution developed a Coin Program to commemorate such an important event, which consisted of two collections. One of gold, in which participated seven countries (Argentina, Belgium, Belarus, China, France, Russia and United Kingdom). A silver consisting of thirty-six countries (Afghanistan, Armenia, Bahrain, Barbados, Belgium, Belarus, Benin, Bhutan, China, Cuba, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, France, Gambia, Ireland, Jamaica, Jordan, Kuwait, Latvia , Liberia, Luxembourg, Malawi, Maldives, Malta, Morocco, Namibia, Norway, Oman, Russia, Seychelles, South Africa, Spain, Ukraine, United Kingdom and Uruguay).

Although the Argentine Republic was part of both collections, the commercialization in the country was made exclusively around the national pieces. The desire of our country to achieve a world in peace, is reflected in the design made by the plastic artist Carlos P. Rodríguez Dufour, which shows the Argentine National Coat of Arms, on which a dove, a universal symbol of peace, flies.
