Comments

This Potin is exceptional in its rarity. The copy BN 4628 of LA TOUR, that of Lyon n°368 or that of the British Museum all have an irregular edge, to the point of having large gaps; these imperfections seem to be characteristic of this gossip. On the reverse of this gossip, the motif described in the Nouvel Atlas as "motif with three loops (triskelion?)" could make one think of a small figure standing facing forward. The nature of the animal could be controversial; described as a horse, it appears to have antlers, which might suggest a deer rather than a horse.
