The coin depicted is thirty-seven rubles fifty kopecks - one hundred francs - a donative (gift) coin with a double denomination: in Russian currency - 37 roubles 50 kopecks and in French - 100 francs. The minting was carried out at the St. Petersburg Mint in 1902. The circulation of the coin was 235. The exact purpose of the issue of the coin is unknown today.

The collectible medals of the series "Rarities of the Museum of the History of Money" are dedicated to Russian coins presented in the museum exposition. They are made of cupronickel or tombac, depending on the color of the metal of the coins to which they are dedicated.
The first ten were minted in 2018, when Goznak celebrated its 200th anniversary. In 2019, five more were added to them, in 2020 the series was also replenished with five, and in 2021 the series was completed with the release of the last four.
