Ali ibn Munawar Shah ruled the Sultanate of Aceh from 1586 to 1589, a period marked by efforts to consolidate power and strengthen trade relations with regional and international partners. His reign was characterized by military campaigns to expand Aceh’s influence in Sumatra and maritime territories, as well as attempts to bolster Islam as a unifying force in the region but resulted in failure.
