Comments

Colectivitat d'Almatret, Almatret (Lleida).
The City Council of Almatret issued, during the Spanish Civil War, emergency notes with values of 25 and 50 Centimos and 1 Peseta. It seems that, due to the lack of coins of lesser value, the City Council "legalized" the coins of 5 and 10 Centimos issued by the Collectivity of Almatret by crossing out his name on the obverse and stamping the municipal seal on the reverse.

Varieties:

AL#3414; Words "La Colectividad" and "El Comité" intentionally crossed out on the obverse; reverse with oval stamp and lettering “ALCALDIA CONSTITUCIONAL - ALMATRET” (Constitutional Mayoralty - Almatret).

AL#3416; Without crossed out words on the obverse; reverse without oval stamp.
