Comments

Mass and Diameter can vary. The lack of a specific year indicates the first year of rule (and further coinage in this type in later years possess the year in Roman Numerals on the reverse).

Antoninus Pius succeeded Hadrian in the year 138, and brought about 23 years of fair and peaceful rule, without massive wars or horrors, and is one of the “Five Good Emperors” - a collective of Emperors in order who ruled well and brought Rome to its zenith.
