Guelders-Julich arms.
Incuse of obverse (bracteate).
Very little is known about the origin of the single example of this coin in the Teyler's Museum. Museum curation places it at the time of Arnold of Egmont and/or Jan II as regent. The combined Guelders-Julich arms were used on other gold coins of Arnold's reign (link) as well as in the later reign of Charles van Egmond. Van der Chijs does not picture any type of bracteate for Arnold (plates IX - XI), and bracteates were not a common form of currency in the Low Countries, so there is also the possibility of this being a coin struck in Julich rather than Guelders.
