Comments

Pannekeet HED.7

De Voogt 42 & 43

Serrure 67

The coin is an imitation of coins of Parma and Piacenza (Scudo d'oro, see link, Serrure).

These coins are referred to as ‘Pistolet’ or ‘Kroon’ in Dutch.

Pannekeet refers to the woman on the cart as being the moon godess Luna on a victory cart. Teylers Museum identifies the person on the cart as a man.

Two types exist regarding decoration between feet of the horse:

  • Grass
  • a Cross

Many of these coins have an unrecognizable last numeral, so the exact year is difficult to determine. Therefor it is not certain whether these decorations occur on one specific year or not.
