With a modified head of Queen Victoria in comparison to other version of this coin, this piece is listed with Obverse 1 and the piece identified as Hern#C2 is listed with Obverse 2. Both pieces are listed as the same reverse die, Reverse 2.
Struck by Messrs. Otto Nolte and Co., Berlin, these pieces can most easily be described as salesman samples, tendered to solicit business. It is doubtful whether they were actually struck in the year dated on the coin.
