Żywiec ([ˈʒɨvʲɛʦ], pronunciation: Gé-vièts; German: Saybusch; Czech: Živec) is a Polish town of around 32,000 inhabitants, located in the Silesian Voivodeship. It is the capital of the Żywiec powiat.
The town is a major tourist attraction in Poland. Żywiec is also famous for the beer that bears its name. The Żywiec brewery, founded in 1856, is the oldest Polish brewery and an anchor point on the European Industrial Heritage Route.
