Comments

Note the coin illustrated has a sceptre rather than a spear. Huvelin makes a distinction between the dies on this issue that have the spear point and those that do not making the spear resemble a sceptre. Cloke & Toone does not differentiate between the two. RML does allow for a distinction, but recognizes that the ‘sceptre’ is intended as a spear.
