This coin was often mistaken for a 25 cents coin (Dutch: kwartje), which was the cause of the nickname avondkwartje (evening quarter). It was soon retracted for that reason. About 12.5 million pieces were exchanged and 200.000 pieces were send to the West-Indies, only about 10% survived.
