Havana Great Theater was built on 1838, named as Gran Teatro Tacón (Tacon Great Theater), later renamed as Estrada Palma (honouring the first Republic president), and today is "El Gran Teatro de La Habana García Lorca" (Havana Great Theater - García Lorca), honouring the great spanish writer. During this times, have received the most important dance, opera and theater companies, as well as the most important philharmonic orchestras from the world.
