Reverse

Crowned norwegian lion holding an axe and facing left, in an oval decorated shield on top of a cross. The shield is crowned and is surrounded by the inscription. Mistmaster's initials divided by the shield, with date below. Beaded ring on the rim.

Comments

The Portugaløser worth 10 Ducats originated as an imitation of Portuguese gold coins. Later they would become gold coins of differing sizes struck with the dies of the silver Speciedaler. This coin is an example of such.
