Coin struck by the RAM but issued jointly by Australia Post as change into circulation from 3500 Post Offices Australia wide. The coin is part of a ten coin series of "Aussie Big Things". These "Big Things" are large constructed Tourist Attractions usually related to the area they are located in. Aussie Big Things is a celebration of the great Australian road trip. And with more than 200 of these massive landmarks scattered across the country, tourists and locals are propelled to ‘tick off’ the Big Things as they drive throughout Australia.
This coin depicts "The Giant Koala" which is located in the western Victorian town of Dadswells Bridge, 20km south-east of Horsham. Made in 1989 by Dutch sculptor Ben Van Zetten, it is composed of bronze and fibreglass supported by a steel frame. At 14 by eight metres, this massive structure is more a building than sculpture. Indeed, the interior, accessible through the Koala’s front forearms, houses a souvenir and gift shop.
As well as being issued individually into circulation you could buy a "Press in Album" for the full set of 10 coins contained in a special tube including the album for $29. One in ten of the Tubed Set has an exclusive Coloured version of the "Giant Murray Cod" coin.
This is an image of the Front & back of the press in Album folded out. Next to it is the inside showing the 10 coins inserted.

You can also buy the coins individually in a coincard for $3 each
Australia Post have also issued the coin in a PNC issue 18 of 2023 (6,500 Copies) at an issue price of $18.95
The coin was also issued individually capsuled in a Ten Coin Proof Set, mintage 5,000.
