Issued to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey on 6th May 2023. The coin was issued individually in trade packaging ( 92,620 sales), in a BU pack (92,841 sales), in an Heir to Monarchy set with a 1969 50 pence piece (5,000 issue limit, sales unknown) and a coinage collection with the Coronation £5 coin and 9 pre-decimal coins from 1948 the year of the king's birth (1,000 issue limit, sales unknown).

The coin was available at the Royal Mint Experience as a Brilliant Uncirculated ‘Strike Your Own’ edition on the day of the coronation with special packaging 06/05/23 (3,296 sales) as well as between 07/05/23 - 20/08/23 in normal packaging (9,699 sales).
