CNI places this coin the second half of the 8th century, and calls it a half follaro. They list examples of the general type ranging from 16 - 23 mm in size (most at 18-23), and ranging in mass from 1.4 - 2.9 g. (most at 1.8 - 2.3).
Italian sellers tend to cite the type according to CNI and MIR.

Steven Album uses a later date of c.832-840 and calls it a follis, presumably based on Grierson (MEC), which he cites as his source.
